What we're all about
Other Side of Surfing (OSoS) celebrates diversity in boardsports by curating events, publishing a print magazine, and hosting a podcast. It was founded by writer, artist, and feminist Margaret Seelie.
Since our first event in 2015, OSoS has grown to include an intrepid community of surfers, skaters, activists, and artists. We’ve put on lots of events, fundraisers, panel discussions, film screenings, live interviews, and more — all in the spirit of making a culture in our own image.
In 2017, we launched a print publication with stories and artwork for waterpeople. Issue 001: SEAWITCHES sold 250 copies in two months and Issue 002: HEXES will be available July 2018. The Other Side of Surfing Podcast is launching this winter and will include conversations with iconic surfers, thinkers, activists, and innovators.
Stay tuned for Issue 003 coming December 2018.
Thanks for joining us.
